Ramas Sepret: Deaths priest

Authors note: Ramas Sepret is not related to Kethoth Sepret, the latter being older by more than 10 billion years

The wind screamed like a phoenix in pain, lightning flashed like the gods were angry, and Ramas Sepret stood in the eye of the storm like it was nothing more than a warm summer breeze. Which it was in that particular region. He was in the sea of storms, and though it wasn't a sea, it often felt like it. With its frequent earthquakes, storms and volcanic eruptions, it was a very dangerous place to be. It wasn't just the weather either, monsters lurked in every cave, shadowy corner and graveyard. And to add to those problems, the people weren't nice either, thieves and murderers were on every forest, road and open plain. these were the kind of people that were trying to defeat Ramas at this point. "Yaaaaaaah!" shouted one of the bandits, and, charging, swung his axe at Ramas's head. Ramas ducked and swung his scimitar, severing the brute's head from his body. The head hit the ground with a thud and the body crumpled onto the sand, the other brutes stared at him in horror, then they turned and ran. The laugh of a servant of death followed them. Ramas stood there for a while, thinking, then he turned and strode away, leaving a cloud of darkness behind him.

Immeral Holimion: the Blind Assassin

Immeral Holimion, the blind assassin, listened silently from the bushes as the slave traders marched past with their captives. Moments later Immeral was among them, a whirling tornado of steel and death, slashing and jabbing, twirling and dancing around his enemies. In a few seconds there was only one man left, he looked up at Immeral in horror, noticing his milky white eyes "but you're blind! how is that possible!" the trader screamed in horror, "The names Immeral Holimion, the blind assassin" Immeral grinned and brought his short sword down into the man's head, killing him instantly. One of slaves approached him to thank him, but he yelped as he realised that Immeral was no longer in the spot that he had occupied moments ago.

Later that day  Immeral was at the gates of Salenbur, the capital of the elven nation. "Sorry sir, but we have to check that you're really who you say you are" one of the guards informed him "please step into the machine" the machine clicked and showed Immeral's details on the small screen the guard was holding. "Thank you sir, please move along".

Adventures of Arumunks 3

"Commander" Zol cried "Elzoth has disappeared!" "It's those dang zakanians again" the commander shouted back "keep moving", "oh, it was a zakanian alright" said a soft voice filled with evil that not even the cyganarians could not understand "but not the ones you were expecting" then he laughed and laughed and laughed while the cyganarians screamed and screamed and screamed as the zakanian's magic pulled them apart. The last thing Zol remembered before he blacked out was that face. The zakanian looked like Arumunks, but there was something evil in that face, something even Zol could not comprehend.

"Hurry up Arumunks" shouted Wardnel, as he looked down at the scene of horror that was the slaughter field where the cyganarians had been ripped apart "what is it, Wardnel" Arumunks shouted back, even though he was right behind him. He took one look at the carnage that was the road and then swore loudly, "what is it, Arumunks?" Wardnel asked worriedly, Arumunks didn't reply for a while, then he muttered one word "zerthimons"

Travels of Carric Stormwind

"Music is Magic" a quote from Carric Stormwind, greatest bard ever

As he got up off the ground Carric Stormwind noticed footprints in the ground beside, and that his sword and wallet were gone. "Hmmm, Benson, it's time to get up now" he called "la la la" Benson squawked ruffling his feathers and hopping/flying from branch to branch "come my fine little familiar, come my wonderful parrot" Carric sang as Benson jumped towards him and landed on his shoulder. "I'll find out some info about our thief and then we'll have breakfast, ok Benson?" Carric asked "kay" Benson squawked back. Carric crouched by the prints and started singing an elvish hymn, as the magic took effect Benson's feathers started to glow and the knowledge flowed into Carric's mind. "That tickles, elf" squawked Benson, "it's half-elf" replied Carric, frowning as a disturbing thing happened, the information that he had just gained flowed away, almost like someone or something was neutralising his immense magical abilities. "Elf, my feathers are going black" Benson squawked, cutting across Carric's thoughts and bringing his mind back to his body. "What!" he gasped "that's impossible, your feathers are enchanted to glow when near magic, not turn black!" "correct, elf" laughed Benson, but his voice was deep and didn't have the slightest hint of a squawk in it "but what if his feathers are near the almighty power of nothing". "No" whispered Carric in terror and horror "Undragon"

Wizard Training in the Forgotten Realms

"It's taking me there! I can't believe it! It's taking me there!" I whoop, as the shuttle blasts off toward the portal. "OK we're ready to go through the portal, start the countdown" shouts Nimble (the gnomish driver) as we blast forward. We hit the portal. Lights flash red. The AI speaks. It asks "you are travelling to another dimension, will you allow inter-dimensional boosters?". Nimble replies with a yell of excitement and a screamed "yes". "Brace for impact" is the only reply. Boom! The shuttle slams into the barrier between dimensions. My seat belt snaps. I'm hurled forward. I slam into the window. It hurts. And then the shuttle accelerates again, throwing me back into my seat. I look out the window and the sight that greets my eyes is incredible, elvish woods and dwarven mountains, dragon-born villages and halfling farms. But then I see them. Clashing armies. Then I remembered, this dimension is in the middle of a war. A big one. They say it will last thousands of years. I see explosions of fire, ice and lightning, I see blood and gore, huge machines and, most horrifyingly, anti- aircraft missiles! I'll recap, I had just come through an old gnomish portal in an old gnomish scout ship and both sides are afraid of gnomish scout ships! Oh yeah and there is also one eensy weensy tiny little detail I forgot, they're pointing gigantic missiles at us!!!!! Help me...

Take up the challenge

This year I have: carried on with Under Water Hockey and flute lessons, started Lit quiz and done a chess tournament, I did swimming for the first term and am going to start karate in term 3, I also did Inline hockey  the first term.

In term three I took up a new activity, karate, it is a new and exciting activity and I have taken away lots of defensive knowledge, my posture has also improved dramatically. I tried two karate clubs before deciding on the second one, unlike the first it was a very practical class with a lot better (in my opinion) variety of moves.

Adventures of Arumunks 2

"Arumunksyouneedahealer!" gasped Zigzag as Arumunks groaned and got up from the place where he had fallen with three cyganaryian spears in his back and a life draining, cyganaryian wolf rider sword embedded in his skull. Around him lay the three hundred and fifty seven cyganaryian warriors and seven wolf riders whose lives he had taken. He was brought to the healers and put in the emergency room to be healed by the orb-touched healer specialist, Helaas, after three hours and twenty seven healing spells which used most of Helaas's magical energy, he was able to walk and cast minor spells. The funeral pyres were lit, and each zakanian's burning was attended to by his or her family and friends, the enemy dead were unceremoniously blasted to ash and thrown into the river. At the council meeting, Arumunks and the orb-touched discussed battle strategies. " I suggest we launch an attack at their retreating warriors and then use a small strike force to attack the cyganaryian city directly" said Adras, one of the older warriors, "no!" cried Meraas "you can't send the warriors to their doom like that!". "He does have a point Adras" put in Helaas, "I suggest we destroy the retreating warriors and then send messengers calling for reinforcements, the enemy won't expect the warriors back for a while and we should be able to get reinforcements in that time". There was a general agreement and they consented to send Wardnel and Arumunks with twenty warriors and ten spell-casters to destroy the hundred or so cyganaryian warriors that had retreated. Once that was done they sent Zigzag and a few others to get reinforcements.

The Adventures of Werty and Gnomey 3

"Sir, its getting much darker than before" called one of the guards, "yes, strange isn't it?" muttered Gnomey. Suddenly, a shape appeared in the distance, stumbling and lurching, like a troll, a very small troll... "weapons at the ready" shouted Sicsun-moor and the seventeen gnomish warriors surrounded the three magicians in a protective circle. "prepare defensive spells" bellowed Thacsan-sedekan, the gnomish magician's axes started to glow with red, brown and turquoise light.

Werty looked up and saw strange light coming from the top of the hill that he was climbing "huh, funny that, it looks like gnome magic, I must be hallucinating" he mumbled to himself "I'm absolutely crazy". He walked up to it and was blasted back by a beam of yellow light. His head snapped up and he went into full berserk battle mode. He charged and went straight through the barrier of gnomish warriors and magicians, hurling them to the side as easily as if they were made of paper instead of flesh and blood. Then, the air around him glowed yellow and before he could even react, he was sent flying and he hit the ground, once, twice, three times before he tumbled to a stop. A stream of yellow light hit him and he blacked out.

Our Central idea:

An economy affects people and the environment

Our lines of inquiry:
  • Organization of economic systems
  • Ways in which trade makes us interdependent
  • The ethics of trade
Here is a video I think relates to this :

I think this relates to our theme because we were looking into unfair economies and this emphasizes unfairness because the workers worked long hours with little pay and there is lots of poverty in the village.

Grammar Ninja

I am going to review a grammar game called Grammar ninja, I'm going to tell you which age I think it is designed for and what I think about it. I think this game is suited for quite a broad category of ages and I would rate it for kids from about 6 to 13. I would probably give this game an 8/10 because it's a bit boring but otherwise it's excellent.

In Grammar ninja you choose a level (Beginner ninja, Skilled ninja and Master ninja). Then you have to find the part of speech specified above (nouns and verbs for beginner, nouns, verbs, pronouns, articles, adjectives and adverbs for skilled and everything for mastered). A small box towards the bottom left tells you how many words you've got left to identify, a larger box at the bottom tells you what kind of word it is if you fail and a box at the top right gives you a hint if you need it. You identify the word by clicking on it.

I liked this game because it adds a cool twist to learning about grammar. It also has a ninja stare down at the start. If you want to try it yourself just click this link, Grammar ninja.

Equivalent fractions

I am going to review an equivalent fractions memory game and I will tell you which age group I think this game is suited for and if I think you should play it. I think this game is a good game for ages 8-12 who are learning about equivalent fractions. I would probably give this game an eight out of ten because its a little bit boring.

In this game you click two squares and they flip, if they are equivalent fractions they will stay there with a black outline, if they aren't they will flip back. If you would like to play click on this link

Limericks

A limerick is a short, humorous poem with five
lines and a twist or consequence in the last line

Learning Intention in writing: We are learning to write a successful Limerick.

Our Success Criteria:

Starts with a subject
Describe the subject
What they have done
A twist or consequence in the last line

Three limericks I wrote:

There once was a very small cat
but he began to get very fat
He wanted to implode
but he started to explode
and that was the end of that

There once was a very big bean
but he began to get very lean
He decided to eat
a lot through his feet
but then he became the queen

There once was a very sad dog
who always sat on a log
He drifted down river
and began to shiver
but then he was killed by frog

My favorite poem by Nicholas:

There once was a cat named Splat
Who had a very large plait,
His plait got cut,
By a nut,
And that was the end of that.

The Adventures of Werty and Gnomey 2

"Man, I hate meetings" muttered Gnomey as he jogged back to the "Mushroom House", "even if they're in the forest with lots of refreshments, they're so tedious, especially if you're the gnomish president and your talking to the representatives of the gnome factions. Funny though,Thosun-moor was late because of troll attacks and Werty was missing........." he spluttered to a halt, both in words and in movement "oh no" he breathed, then he got out his exto-plasmaratic sifo didy dum (gnomish cell phone) and called Gonus, his secretary. "Gonus! this is an emergency, you've got to tell the faction leaders to send soldiers into the mines and to prepare their defenses for a full scale troll invasion, I'm going into the mines to find Werty! Over"

Several minutes later Gnomey was at the mine with general Sicsun-moor (brother of Thosun-moor) and a troop of twenty gnomish warriors and three gnomish magicians under the command of Thacsan-sedekan. They descended into the mines and soon found the wreckage of the earthquake caused by the deep earth troll "what happened here!" exclaimed one of the soldiers. "Earth troll magic" breathed Gnomey, suddenly the ground exploded and everyone, but three guards fell down towards the pits, because of the shock of the collapsing tunnel they all forgot to use magic.

In the pits, they took a while to find each other and get their bearings. Once they were together again they drew their weapons and set off on their search for Werty.

Meanwhile Werty tussled with the mud troll, and it was the hardest battle he'd ever fought. Fighting a troll in its home territory after falling about one hundred and fifty meters into one of the pits was not a task every gnome was up for. But Werty hit and kicked and scratched and bit, until finally the troll was flat on its back, blood dripping from its wounds. "Man" huffed Werty, breathing heavily "that was tough!"

Over Fishing Should Be Stopped

Over fishing should be stopped because if it isn't the entire marine community will collapse. Like, for example if the parrot fish is driven to extinction the coral reefs will be overgrown with algae that the parrot fish feed on, and coral reefs hold a quarter of marine life, their cradles of life and wonder, it's not just that the fishing industries will die. Does this generation want to be the ones who are known for the destruction of all marine life? Do we want to be guilty of destruction of one of the most beautiful and wondrous societies on Earth? NO! At least, I don't. We jail people for the death of other humans but we find destroying entire species okay? Sharks kill 98 people a year max and humans kill at least one hundred million sharks a year. We are called Homo Sapiens "wise men", but is it wise to destroy our only home? I'll leave you with that thought.

Quickwrite

I think this video is a beautiful piece because it shows that you can't just say sorry and leave it at that, because if you create a mess and just say sorry and leave it for someone else to cleanup it won't help at all, we need to start treating this disease now before it destroys us. We're destroying the earth and we need to do something about it. We can't leave this problem for future generations to clean up! WE need to do something about it. Fighting for equality won't matter if everything is destroyed.

Soccer

Soccer was created at least 3000 years back. Soccer probably originated in China. Japan and China had the first International soccer game in around 50 BC. Soccer was banned in England for a time because early versions were quite violent.

Olliebollen are a traditional new years food in the Netherlands. Olliebollen used to be called olliekoek until the early twentieth century. Although called oily balls this food is not oily at all if done well. Olliebollen are really good with apples and raisins. Powdered sugar is a must!

If Me And My Family Got Stuck On a Desert Island

If me and my family got stuck on a desert Island I think we would probably make some kind of game out of coconuts or go swimming. Daniel would probably climb trees while I would convince our parents to play an elaborate game with different kinds of coconuts sand seeds. And Sam would end up in the tree with Daniel.

How a Power - Cut Would Change My Lifestyle

If there was a power cut in my neighborhood it wouldn't change my lifestyle much because I spend most of my free time reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons or yu-gi-oh, making up games and playing outside with my friends and brothers. The way it would change my lifestyle is that since I do most of my homework on the computer I wouldn't be able to do much of that anymore.

Board Games

The first board game was created in the year 5000 BC and involved simply, dice. Other games such as Senet and Mehen sprang up later in ancient Egypt. Board games were created mainly for entertainment but several were religiously related like the before mentioned  Senet and Mehen. The "Mansion of Happiness" was another religiously related game. The first game was invented in Turkey and is a key piece in many of our modern games.

Game - Dragons Through the Ages

"Dragons through the ages" is a game with very little materials and its highly adaptable. It simply involves a pencil, a rubber, a ruler, quite a a lot of paper, and your imagination. To play you create certain jobs agreed on by the group such as, farmer, carpenter, warrior, and hunter. Each job gets a certain amount of materials per round. Everyone chooses a job and the group decides on some monsters with stats and xp values, then the group agrees on enough dragons to keep the game going for a while. The aim of the game is to capture one of each type of dragon. disagreements are resolved by paper scissors rock and the result of stunts and the like is a group decision. Every round each character must eat a certain amount of food agreed on by the group to survive and must get a vaccination every three rounds which costs one hundred gold if no one is playing the doctor or a price decided on by the doctor if some one is playing her/him. If there are parts missing in this explanation then the group fills in the missing pieces. Now go play!

The Country I Would Most Want To Go To

If I were to go to a country, I would go to Japan  because it has lots of cool foods and martial arts, like sushi and jujitsu. although it might be a bit cramped it would still be a really cool experience!

The IB Attitudes That we Need on Camp

In camp I think we will need to use all of the IB attitudes because they will all play a key role in our safety and happiness. Here is why:

Appreciation:
We need to appreciate camp because it is a very fun but very costly activity so chances are we won't go again if we don't appreciate it properly.

Commitment:
We need to commit to the activities at camp for basically the same reason as appreciation, if we don't commit we won't get enough fun and there won't be any point in doing it again.

Confidence:
To have proper fun we need to be confident and have a can do attitude.

Cooperation:
if we cooperate everything will be a lot easier and everyone will have more fun

Creativity:
For this camp it will be very helpful to have a creative approach to things.

Curiosity:
If we are curious in camp we could learn heaps of new things.

Empathy:
Kindness will be essential in this camp because it doesn't take much to get hurt in the bush and it will speed things up a lot if we help each other.

Enthusiasm:
Like confidence we need to be willing to try things to have proper fun.

Independence:
Some times we will have to be independent of others to succeed.

Integrity:
Like empathy we need to be kind on camp.

Respect:
We need to be respectful of the teachers, our fellow students and ourselves.

Tolerance:
We need to tolerate that some people aren't as good at some things as others.

Adventures of Arumunks

“Cantcatchme!” Zigzag screeched gleefully, “huh” grunted Zanchos, “I’ll catch you someday” “dontexpectto” Zigzag laughed. “You two!” shouted Arumunks “quit fighting or I’ll blast you both to cinders!” “okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaydowehavetoseetheorbtouched?” Zigzag moaned as he trudged at the speed of sound round and round Arumunks and Zanchos till they were dizzy. "Quit that Zigzag" grumbled Zanchos. "Imgone!" shouted Zigzag and practically teleported into the hut. Arumunks and Zanchos were just about to step in when the cry "cyganaryians!" rang out, orb-touched and normal zakanian warriors alike came streaming out of various huts. Wardnel, the youngest but also most powerful orb touched, ran past with his tigra, Arumunks followed. "good to see you again Arumunks" Wardnel said after performing the customary hand gesture when greeting someone of lower rank "for you maybe" muttered Arumunks after replying with the gesture of greeting someone of higher rank (who was highly annoyed that this young ling of only eighty three years old outranked him).

The battle was a short but fierce one and the winner turned out to be the zakanians, not without many casualties however, the total losses were, five hundred and eighty seven deaths, thirteen prisoners and ten wolf riders casualties to the cyganaryians, one hundred and forty three casualties with seventy two badly wounded and three orb-touched dead to the zakanians.

The adventures of Werty and Gnomey

"Hey dum dum dum, hey dum dum dum, hey dum dum dum, dumity dum dum duuuuuuuum, I am a gnome with pickaxe and I'm going to mine the eeeeeearth, dumity dum" sang Werty the gnome as he swung his pickaxe as hard as he could, it collided with the rock, splinters of rock flew everywhere, and so did a shiny stone. "Ooooooooh, a gem! It looks valuable" he stooped to examined it when the wall behind him exploded, sending him flying behind a wall. Three trolls stepped out! "Huuurf, I smell gnome" growled the mud troll "huuurf, yes gnome" as he sniffed the air "SHUT UP DIMWIT!" roared the Deep earth troll, shaking the caves and collapsing the spot where Werty was lying. "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!" screamed Werty as he fell into the dreaded PITS.

"What was that?" growled the mud troll and he looked down a hole to see Werty using magic to levitate himself into one of the tunnels connected to this particular pit and begin to run up the path to the surface. The Deep earth troll grinned a horrible grin and clenched his hand. The earth rumbled as the troll earth magic took effect, chunks of earth dropped from the tunnel Werty was climbing, and the one where  the mud troll was standing "graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!" screamed the mud troll "nooooooooooooooo!" screamed Werty he tried to use earth magic to levitate himself out. But the deep earth troll's magic was much stronger. Both him and the mud troll fell down, down, down, the dark, dark, pit.

Commenting

Commenting is an important part of blogging. Because it's a big part of communicating with each  other. Without commenting less people would communicate using blogger because they would have to wait until they were both on and wouldn't be able to leave messages to each other. To post a comment you need to be polite in every thing you say. You shouldn't leave personal info in a comment and it is smart to leave a question and your blog address to continue conversation.

Starting Berkley

I walked in through the doors and shivered, and not just because it was cold either, I was starting Berkley normal middle school and I knew I was not going to be able to savor the complete freedom of it for a long, long time. I would have enjoyed it if I had had the choice, but I didn't, the fear and hatred of school that I had had to suppress last year was catching up on me, I felt it. I mentally and physically curled up in to a ball. When my name was called I physically uncurled but I kept my well trained mental shields up. However, when I got to class the joy at finding out how kind my teacher was destroyed all negative thoughts and emotions I was sub-consciously having.
